Study Abroad and National Student Exchange
College is the ideal time to explore the world. At Montclair State University, you can travel and study in more than 60 countries through over 200 different study abroad programs.
The benefits of studying abroad are limitless, but here's a few:
- Affordability: Most programs charge the same tuition amount that you would pay if you were studying on campus! If you already qualify for financial aid, in most cases, you may apply some or all of it to your study abroad experience.
- Academic Credit: Complement your studies with new and different courses that can still count towards your degree. Studying abroad during winter or summer sessions will also help you to get ahead or stay on track towards graduation.
- Language Immersion: Depending on where you study, you may have the opportunity for 24/7 language immersion, which is the best way to learn or improve your skills.
- Professional Edge: Studying abroad is a terrific way to expand your career choices, develop a global resume and stay competitive in an international market.
Study Away and See the USA!
The National Student Exchange is a consortium of over 180 colleges and universities throughout the United States, including Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam, and also in Canada. Through this academic program, students continue to make progress toward their Montclair State degree while studying at another fully accredited institution. After a semester or year on exchange, students return to Montclair State University to complete their remaining degree requirements and graduate.
Imagine spending a term in a different part of the country – as close to home as Massachusetts or as distant as Hawaii or Alaska or Guam or Puerto Rico! Montclair State students are eligible to apply to the National Student Exchange from their sophomore year. You can stay just one semester or a full academic year. Montclair State University students pay University tuition and still use federal financial aid.
