Montclair State is catching the eye of national media on their annual rankings of the best American colleges and universities for its work enrolling a diverse student body and helping them earn affordable and in-demand credentials. Here are some of our awards and recognitions:
- In 2019, the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education recognized Montclair State as a Doctoral University – High Research Activity.
- Montclair State met the criteria set forth by the U.S. Department of Education to be considered a Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI), highlighting the institution’s unprecedented growth and its commitment to providing underserved populations access to affordable higher education.
- U.S. News & World Report listed Montclair State among the top 200 national universities in the country in its 2020 rankings, as well as #121 in Best Colleges for Veterans, #23 in Top Performers on Social Mobility and #79 in Top Public Schools.
- The Feliciano School of Business was included in the 2017 edition of “The Best 294 Business Schools” published by The Princeton Review.
- The Princeton Review Guide to 399 Green Colleges: 2018 Edition included Montclair State in its rankings of America’s greenest campuses.
- Montclair State was included in The Wall Street Journal/Times Higher Education College Rankings 2020 list.
- Montclair State included by Alarms.org in its “Safest Colleges in America 2019” list.
- Forbes included Montclair State in its 2019 editions of “America’s Top Colleges and America’s Best Value Colleges” rankings.
- Money magazine ranked Montclair State among the nation’s “Best Colleges for Your Money” in 2019 – 2020. Money also ranked the University at No. 22 on its 2019 “Most Transformative Colleges” list.
- Montclair State was named to the Campus Pride Top 30 LGBTQ-Friendly Colleges and Universities list in 2018.
- Montclair State included in “America’s Best Bang for the Buck Colleges” by Washington Monthly’s 2019 College Guide.
- Montclair State designated “Voter Friendly Campus” on Washington Monthly’s list of “Best Colleges for Student Voting” 2019.
